The Austrian Lviv is the tour down the quarters biult in the late 19 and early 20 centuries.

When the Austrians occupied Lviv in 1772, they counted just two hundred brick houses. The city expanded intensively during the period of autonomy of Galicia (1861 – 1918). The architects unleashed their artistic imagination by inventing neo-Jewish and neo-Ukrainian styles and planning lavishly decorated neo-Romanesque castles and neo-baroque palace. In result the recent outskirts as well as the whole city acquired a grand-luxury look. Intensive construction, especially since the late 1870s, chronologically coincided with a new architectural fashion – Austrian Art Nouveau. We offer tourists the most impressive buildings of that period: the Opera House, the Noble Casino, the Palace of the Galician Sejm, the ensemble of Svoboda Avenue, the Potocki Palace.
