Want to see something unusual? Steep cliffs suddenly rise among the harsh Carpathian mountains. 900 years ago, our ancestors built a wooden fortress on them. Of course, there are no very noticeable traces of her now. However, the holes in the rocks where the beams were fixed and the brick fragments make it possible to recreate its true appearance. This is what archaeologist Mykhailo Rozhko did in the 1970s and 1980s.
Tustan’ was an important stronghold of the Carpathian defensive line against Hungarian expansion. The most unusual monument of the Lviv region. Located in the village Urych, Skole district.
On the way back to Lviv we will visit another archeological monument of the prehistoric epoch – a cave sanctuary in the village Rozhirche. Authentic Thracian Hallstadt! And also we will cross the river Stryj on the longest Carpathian bridge – about 1 mile!
